Resumo
O presente estudo visa identificar as necessidades das famílias que viajam com filhos com
Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) ou outros fatores similares que possam diferenciar e até
influenciar na decisão destas famílias com relação à atenção e cuidados dispostos oferecidos
pelo setor turístico.
Como ponto-chave desenvolvido neste material está a hotelaria, no que tange a prestação de
serviços, infraestrutura e conhecimento do staff sobre o tema do autismo. Portanto, este estudo
visa colaborar na identificação de alguns cuidados ou de atenção que uma pessoa com
Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) pode, de facto, necessitar.
Focados na infância, a investigação tentará colaborar com as possíveis melhorias na
experiência de famílias com crianças com TEA que também são consumidores do turismo
global. A partir dos estudos específicos sobre a temática, sintetizaremos o que é o autismo e
como o turismo enquanto atividade de experiência e lazer pode ser benéfico no
desenvolvimento pessoal, familiar e social do indivíduo.
Aqui reuniremos a análise do inquérito aplicado aos pais e/ou tutores de crianças autistas para
ouvir deles o que de facto tem valor em suas experiências turísticas familiares. Além da análise
do referencial teórico, também criamos um guia rápido e de boas práticas como sugestão de
formação profissional para as empresas turísticas, nomeadamente a hotelaria, mas que no futuro
poderá também ser um primeiro passo para formações profissionais de outras esferas do
segmento, como por exemplo para as companhias áreas ou outros transportes turísticos;
parques de diversões; restauração; agências de viagens; etc.
This study aims to identify the needs of families traveling with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other similar factors that may differentiate and even influence the decision of these families regarding the attention and care provided by the tourism sector. The key point developed in this material is the hotel industry, regarding the provision of services, infrastructure, and staff knowledge on the subject of autism. Therefore, this study aims to collaborate in identifying some of the care or attention that a person with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) may in fact need. Focused on childhood, this research will try to collaborate with the possible improvements in the experience of families with children with ASD who are also consumers of global tourism. From the specific studies on the topic, we will synthesize what autism is and how tourism as an experience and leisure activity can be beneficial in the personal, family and social development of the individual. Here we will gather the analysis of the survey applied to parents and/or guardians of autistic children to hear from them what in fact is of value in their family tourism experiences. Besides the analysis of the theoretical referential, we also created a quick guide of good practices as a suggestion for professional training for tourism companies, namely hotels, but that in the future may also be a first step for professional training in other spheres of the segment, such as for airlines or other tourism transports; amusement parks; restaurants; travel agencies; etc.
