O papel dos Centros de Apoio Preventivo na intervenção com crianças e jovens em risco

Resumo
O tema escolhido para esta investigação foi o Papel dos Centro de Apoio Preventivo para Crianças e Jovens em Risco (CAP) do Instituto dos Ferroviários. O facto de haver pouca informação e estudo nesta área social, chama a atenção para a necessidade de aprofundar o tema, de forma a que se consiga obter respostas sociais para o trabalho dos profissionais da área e, também, para a sociedade como um todo. Por esse motivo, este estudo procura compreender como se desenvolve a intervenção realizada junto da população que frequenta o CAP do Instituto dos Ferroviários e compreender a perceção das famílias e dos jovens que são apoiados. Assim sendo, os principais conceitos abordados neste estudo foram, o sistema de promoção e proteção em Portugal, os maus-tratos e a sua tipologia, a lei de proteção de crianças e jovens em perigo e as entidades com competência em matéria de infância e juventude sendo estas as entidades sinalizadoras dos CAP. Tendo em conta o contexto da investigação, foi adotado um cariz misto que engloba uma abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa e os participantes do estudos foram todas as crianças e jovens e suas respetivas famílias que estavam integradas no CAP até março de 2023. Os métodos de recolha de dados baseados nas análises de processo e entrevistas semi-estruturadas foram os escolhidos para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa. Relativamente aos resultados obtidos com as entrevistas realizadas junto das crianças e jovens e das respetivas famílias, foi possível perceber que a grande maioria das crianças e jovens integrados no CAP têm conhecimento relativamente à importância da intervenção realizada no Centro para com eles e também com as famílias. As mesmas identificam e mencionam como mais relevante para elas os fatores de proteção promovidos pelo Centro, tais como a intervenção realizada sobre a capacidade resolutiva e o acompanhamento escolar que se traduz no sucesso escolar. No que diz respeito às famílias, foi possível, de forma geral, perceber que as mesmas também mostram uma opinião bastante positiva sobre a intervenção realizada pelos técnicos e educadores que lidam diariamente com os seus educandos. Uma vez que existe pouca divulgação desta resposta na área social, este estudo acaba por trazer resultados necessários que contribuem para o conhecimento tanto da comunidade cientifica quanto a sociedade em geral. The chosen subject for this investigation was the Role of Preventive Support Center for Children and Young People at Risk (CAP) of the Instituto dos Ferroviários. The fact that there is very little information and studies in this social area draws attention to the need to deepen into the topic, so that social responses can be obtained for the work of professionals in the area and, also, for society as a whole. For this reason, this investigation seeks to understand how the intervention carried out with the population that attends the CAP of the Instituto dos Ferroviários develops and to understand the perception of the families and young people who are supported. Therefore, the main concepts covered in this study were the promotion and protection system in Portugal, abuse and it’s typology, the children/young people in danger protection law and the entities with legal competence in matters of childhood and youth. These being the CAP signaling entities. Taking into consideration the context of the present investigation it was adopted an approach that encompasses a qualitative and quantitative perspective and the study participants were all children and young people and their respective families who were integrated into CAP until March 2023. Data collection methods based on process analysis and semi-structured interviews were chosen for the development of the research. Regarding the results obtained from the interviews carried out with children and young people and their families, it was possible to see that the majority of children and young people integrated into CAP are quite aware of the importance of the intervention carried out at the Center for them and also for their families. They identify and mention the protective factors promoted by the Center as most relevant to them. In regard of their families, it was possible, in general, to see that they also expressed a very positive opinion about the intervention carried out by the technicians and educators who deal with their children on a daily basis. As previously mentioned, as there is little published information about this social response, this study ends up bringing necessary results that contribute to the knowledge of both the scientific community and society in general.
