O turismo e desenvolvimento sustentável : contributos do Turismo de Natureza no desenvolvimento do Parque Nacional da Gorongosa

O Parque Nacional da Gorongosa situado em Moçambique é uma referência em termos de turismo e conservação a nível nacional e internacional, devido à variedade de recursos que possui e dos esforços que têm vindo a ser empreendidos de forma a restaurar e preservar a biodiversidade característica do território. Gorongosa possui uma
diversidade de ecossistemas, planícies, maciços rochosos, florestas e falésias que
constituem uma forte atracção turística natural capaz de potenciar o desenvolvimento do
território, por via do turismo.
Por outro lado, o ecoturismo e o turismo de natureza usufruem do património ecológico e
paisagístico e ao mesmo tempo contribuem para a manutenção, conservação e melhoria da envolvente territorial, pelo seu valor atractivo e pelo lucro daí resultante.
Neste sentido, afigura-se importante efectuar um estudo com vista a alcançar os
seguintes objectivos: perceber em que medida o turismo de natureza pode contribuir para
o desenvolvimento sustentável do Parque Nacional da Gorongosa; efectuar um diagnóstico do potencial turístico, analisando as forças e fraquezas bem como as
oportunidades e ameaças do território, com importância ou influência na actividade
turística do Parque; analisar as acções que podem ser levadas a cabo no sentido de
melhorar os serviços prestados e aumentar a satisfação dos visitantes.
Com a concretização da presente investigação pretende-se reunir um conjunto de
elementos que justifiquem, em jeito de recomendações aumentar a atractividade turística do Parque Nacional da Gorongosa, por via da identificação da melhor oferta turística.
Para tal, a metodologia de investigação utilizada consiste na abordagem qualitativa com
recurso a análise de fontes documentais e a aplicação de inquérito por questionário ao
Doutor Vasco Galante, Diretor de Comunicação do Parque Nacional da Gorongosa.
The Gorongosa National Park situated in Mozambique is a reference in terms of tourism and conservation at the national and international level, because of the variety of resources it has and the efforts that have been undertaken in order to restore and preserve the biodiversity characteristic of the territory. Gorongosa has a diversity of ecosystems, plains, rock formations, cliffs and forests that constitute strong natural tourist attraction capable to boosting the development of the territory, through tourism. On the other hand the ecotourism and nature tourism enjoy the ecological heritage and landscape, as well as contribute to the maintenance, conservation and improvement of the surrounding land, for their value and attractive by profit resulting benefit. In this sense, it is important to conduct a study to achieve the following objectives: to understand how nature tourism can contribute to the sustainable development of Gorongosa National Park; making diagnosis of the tourist potential, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses, as well the opportunities and threats of the territory, with the importance or influence in tourism Park; analyze the actions that can be carried out in order to improve services and increase the satisfaction of the visitors. This research aims to collect a set of elements that justify, by way of recommendations to increase the tourist attractiveness of the Gorongosa National Park, through the identification of the best tourist attractions. The research methodology uses is the qualitative approach using the analysis of documentary sources and application of survey questionnaire to Vasco Galante, communications director of the Gorongosa National Park.
