dc.description.abstractA autoestima dos professores tem vindo a ser cada vez mais questionada ao longo dos anos, uma vez que existe uma tendência para que esta decresça tendo em conta a situação social em que vivemos. O objetivo deste estudo passa por perceber até que ponto os professores de Educação Física se sentem satisfeitos tendo em conta o nível de ensino que lecionam. Para isso, procurou-se perceber se o nível de ensino tem influência na autoestima dos professores de Educação Física, ou seja, se as diferentes dimensões deste estudo tais como, a satisfação pessoal dos professores, o sentimento de competência e capacidade, a perceção do reconhecimento pelos outros e a satisfação na relação com os alunos, são influenciadas pelo nível de ensino que estes lecionam, diferenciando entre 2º e 3º Ciclos do Ensino Básico e Ensino Secundário. A amostra deste estudo foi constituída por 172 professores de Educação Física (N=94 do Género Feminino e N= 78 do Género Masculino) distribuídos pelos 2º e 3º Ciclos do Ensino Básico, com 70 professores, e Ensino Secundário com 102 professores. Foi aplicado o questionário intitulado de “As Perceções dos Professores sobre a Aprendizagem na Sala de Aula” (ASA-PPP, Leitão, 2012). O alfa de Cronbach do questionário é de 0,879. Os resultados deste estudo confirmaram uma das quatro hipóteses, indicando que os professores de Educação Física dos 2º e 3º Ciclos do Ensino Básico têm uma maior perceção do reconhecimento pelos outros, sentindo-se mais respeitados tanto pelo seu grupo disciplinar como pelos restantes e sentindo também que o seu grupo disciplinar é bem visto pelos professores de outras disciplinas. Relativamente às restantes hipóteses, o sentimento de competência e capacidade, a satisfação pessoal e a satisfação na relação com os alunos, não puderam ser confirmadas pois as diferenças não foram estatisticamente significativas.pt
dc.description.abstractThe teacher’s self-esteem has deserved increased attention over the years as a result of the descending trend seen in the teacher’s self-esteem, resulting from today’s social atmosphere. This study aims at understanding the level of satisfaction of Physical Education Teachers in relation to the schooling level they teach. To that effect, the study tries to understand how the schooling level affects on the Physical Education Teachers’ self-esteem. In other words, whether the different arms of the study - teacher’s personal satisfaction, perception of the skills and capacity, peer recognition, satisfaction at teacher-student relationship - are influenced by the schooling level they teach, considering the differences between the 2nd and the 3rd cycles of Basic and Secondary Education. The study sample includes 172 teachers of Physical Education (N=94 Female and N=78 Male) 70 of which are allocated to the 2nd and 3rd cycles of basic education and 102 to Secondary Education. The inquiry model applied was “The Teacher’s Perceptions of Learning in the Classroom” (ASA-PPP, Leitão, 2012). The inquiry’s Cronbach alpha is 0.879. The study outcomes confirmed one of the four hypothesis. It pointed out that the Physical Education Teachers of the 2nd and 3rd cycles of Basic education have a better perception of peer recognition; that they feel more respected by the teachers of their subject group and also by the teachers other subject groups. They also feel that the subject group is well regarded by the teachers of other subjects. The remaining hypothesis, skills and capacity, personal satisfaction and satisfaction at teacher- student relationship couldn’t be confirmed as the differences were statistically insignificant,en
