The present work present a final report of the professional activity taken pplace within the scope of the Masters degree in Football granted by Universidade Lusófona de Humanidades e Tecnologias. This report was carried out in the Under-19 team of Belenenses Futebol, SAD who played in the under-19, Juniores "A", of the Lisbon Football Association (AFL), in the 2021/2022 season. My functions during the internship period were that of trainee assistant coach, in which I helped in the operationalization of training and collaboration in the competitive context. The youth squad was initially made up of 42 athletes, of which 33 were from other clubs and only six maintained their continuity at the club. Regarding the quarter of birth, the most prevalent quarter is the last one (14 players, which is equivalent to a percentage of 33.3%). The minimum classification objectives outlined were successfully achieved, with the team finishing in 7th place, remaining in the respective division, however, the other objectives were not achieved with the same success. Regarding the evaluation of training throughout the season, the Specific Preparation Method (MEP) was the most used (54.97%), and within this method the most used exercises were the finishing exercises (4.32%) and competitive (39.82%). During the sports season, it was intended to evaluate the athletes' external loads in different reduced games and compare them to the formal game. A conditioned reduced game (GR+5x5+GR) was carried out with a relative area per player of less than 100 m2 and an official competitive game. The results of this study showed that the distances covered per minute were similar between the two games, while in the variable distance covered per minute at high speed there were significant differences in the two games. Although small games are increasingly used in training methodologies in order to develop and improve all aspects of the game in an integrated way, it is increasingly evident that when compared to the demands of formal games, they still do not reach desired levels of performance. essential for athletes.
