Resumo
Em Portugal, de 1910 a 1967, não existiu nenhuma Escola teológica, no sentido restrito da palavra escola. O Governo Provisório da jovem República encerra a Faculdade de Teologia da Universidade de Coimbra, anulando as matrículas no 1.º ano da licenciatura, a 23 de Outubro de 1910. A partir daí, o ensino da Teologia passou a ser feito, exclusivamente, nos Seminários de cada Diocese e, apenas, para formação dos que queriam seguir a carreira eclesiástica. Deste modo, ficou negado, ao simples crente ou investigador, o estudo académico da Teologia em Portugal. Podemos, então, falar de um vazio teológico, de um deserto, embora seja possível encontrar um ou outro oásis, no que eu chamo iniciativas erráticas, lugares proféticos da proclamação do necessário, desejável e possível. A travessia do deserto durou cerca de 60 anos… terá chegado o fim da unicidade de pensamento teológico em Portugal?
From 1910 to 1967, there were no theological school in Portugal in the real sense of the word school. On the 23rd of October 1910, the Provisory Government of the young Republic closed the Theology Course at the University of Coimbra, abolishing 1st year inscriptions. From this moment, the Theology began to be taught exclusively on the Seminaries of each Diocese, the aim being only to form those who wanted to follow the ecclesiastic carrier. Thus, it was impossible to the simple believer or investigator to follow the Theology academic studies in Portugal. We can speak of a theological emptiness, of a desert, even if it possible to find one or other oasis, of what I call irregular initiatives, prophetic places of the proclamation of the necessary, desirable and possible. The desert crossing took more or less 60 years… do the end of theological thinking uniqueness arrived?
