O respeito pelos direitos humanos dos imigrantes no âmbito dos nacionalismos europeus: enfoque no caso português

Resumo
O presente estudo, de cariz qualitativo, tem como principal objetivo analisar de que
forma os direitos humanos dos imigrantes são respeitados no âmbito dos nacionalismos
europeus. Como veremos o nacionalismo do século XXI é substancialmente diferente
do nacionalismo que vigorava nos séculos anteriores, e devido à imigração, que
aumentou nas últimas décadas, têm aparecido na UE novas formas e expressões de
nacionalismo. Veremos ainda como, contrariando a tendência europeia, Portugal se temmostrado
um país em que a extrema-direita não tem aumentado e, atendendo aos dados
referentes às atitudes dos portugueses face à imigração, verifica-se que estes têm uma
atitude recetiva e de abertura. Conclui-se que os partidos de extrema-direita europeia
estão a aumentar e a ganhar cada vez mais adeptos. A realidade vivida em Portugal,
onde estes partidos ainda não têm grande expressão, contrasta todavia com a restante
realidade europeia, sendo que em Portugal, o grande foco se prende precisamente com a
questão da imigração.
The present qualitative study aims to analyze how the human rights of immigrants are respected within the framework of European nationalisms. The results show that 21st century nationalism is different from the nationalism prevalent in previous centuries and that, due to immigration, which has increased in recent decades, new forms and expressions of nationalism are emerging in the EU. Regarding the Portuguese reality, and contrary to the European trend, Portugal shows itself as a country in which the far right has not increased and, given the data regarding the Portuguese attitudes towards immigration, it appears that they have a welcoming and open stance. It can be concluded that the far right parties are increasing and gaining more and more supporters, and the reality lived in Portugal, where these parties still do not have much expression, contrasts with the rest of the European reality, and that in Portugal, the main focus is precisely on the issue of immigration.
