Resumo
A atividade do voluntariado reveste-se do interesse social e comunitário e pode ser desenvolvida nos seguintes domínios: cívico, ação social, saúde, educação, ciência e cultura, defesa do património e ambiente, entre outros.
O voluntariado exerce um efeito positivo sobre os indivíduos ajudando-os a manter um papel ativo na sociedade promovendo uma melhoria nas capacidades biopsicossociais.
Neste âmbito quisemos compreender a importância do voluntariado sénior e até que ponto esta atividade promove a qualidade de vida dos voluntários seniores.
Para investigar esta realidade, realizámos 15 entrevistas a voluntários seniores da universidade sénior da Póvoa de Santa Iria, todos em condição de reformados. No fim da entrevista foi aplicada a escala de Bref-Portugal para mediar a qualidade de vida dos mesmos.
Os resultados obtidos demonstram, de uma forma global que todos os voluntários estão satisfeitos com a vida e a realização do voluntariado provoca uma melhoria na sua qualidade de vida. A perceção da melhoria do seu dia-a-dia é efetuada pelas pessoas entrevistadas pois o voluntariado aumenta o conhecimento e a aprendizagem, mas é reciproco, pois também recebem muito em troco.
As conclusões desta dissertação são que o voluntariado pode ser praticado em qualquer momento da vida, pois é uma atividade que traz momentos de grande felicidade e bem-estar para as pessoas que o praticam.
The voluntary work takes up social and community interest and can be developed in the following areas: civic, social action, health, education, science and culture, heritage and environmental protection, among others. According to the literature volunteering has a positive effect on individuals helping them maintain an active role in society and promoting an improvement in biopsychosocial capabilities. The thematic study was to understand the importance of senior volunteerism and to what extent promotes the quality of life of senior volunteers. To investigate this reality, we conducted 15 interviews with senior volunteers senior University Póvoa Santa Iria would and all these volunteers had to be in the renovated condition. At the end of the interview was applied to Portugal-bref scale to mediate the quality of life of 15 volunteers. The results are that in a comprehensive manner all the volunteers are satisfied with the life and achievement of volunteering in senior university Póvoa Santa Iria would thus promoting an improvement in their quality of life. Because their day to day improvement because really give knowledge and learning but also receive much in return. The conclusions reached in this paper is that volunteering should be practiced at any time of our life, but one thing is certain volunteering after retirement back moments of great.
