Formação contínua em mediação de conflitos e atuação de professores mediadores : estratégias socioeducativas para a escola atual

Resumo
Estamos conscientes das mudanças que afetam constantemente a sociedade atual e com elas advêm, frequentemente, problemas sociais e de convivência. O exercício da profissão docente exige uma atualização permanente que acompanhe a evolução do conhecimento e da sociedade. Acresce que, também, se exige à escola e ao professor que contribua para a educação integral do aluno. Para esta temática definiu-se como objetivo geral: analisar o contributo da formação em mediação e da atuação do professor mediador como estratégias para dar resposta aos desafios socioeducativos da Escola atual. Levou-se a cabo uma pesquisa qualitativa. Recorreu-se à entrevista semiestruturada para a recolha de dados. A análise dos dados foi feita com recurso à técnica de análise de conteúdo, segundo a codificação das entrevistas, mediante as unidades de registo, de onde surgiram categorias e subcategorias.
Os resultados apontam para o facto de que realmente a formação contínua, nomeadamente, em mediação de conflitos, é importante para a atualização e inovação de conhecimentos e estratégias, conduzindo a um melhor desempenho profissional. A formação em mediação promove a aquisição de competências que apontam para uma melhor facilidade em lidar com os desafios socioeducativos da atualidade e em contexto escolar. Verificou-se também que existe articulação entre as competências socioeducativas trabalhadas na mediação com as que são solicitadas aos alunos no final do seu percurso escolar obrigatório.
We are aware of the challenges that constantly affect the present society and with them comes, frequently, social and coexistence issues. Working as a teacher demands a permanent upgrade that keeps up with society and the evolution of knowledge. Furthermore, it also demands to school and the teacher that contributes to the student’s full education. For this issue in question it was defined the main goal: examine the contribution of qualification in mediation and the performance of the mediating professor like strategies to answer to school’s current socio-educational challenges. We proceeded with a qualitative research. We resorted to a semi-structured interview to gather data. The data analysis was done based on analysis of content technique, according to the interview’s codification, upon the register units, from where emerged categories and subcategories. The results lead to the fact that ongoing formation, for instance, in conflict mediation, it’s important for upgrading and innovating knowledge and strategies leading to a better professional exhibition. Qualification in mediation promotes the acquirement of skills that aim for dealing with nowadays school’s socio-educational challenges in an easier way. We noted too, that there is a perfect link between socio-educational abilities developed in mediation and the ones that are requested to students at the end of their mandatory schooling journey.
