The current state of conservation of the Villa Sousa Palace, requires intervention in order to restore respect for the place it deserves. This heritage was awarded the Valmor Prize in 1912. This work intends to contribute ideas for the valuation of the National Architectural Heritage, through a proposal that aims at the rehabilitation of buildings of similar scale, with architectural, aesthetic and historical value, integrating new uses, in the areas where they are located. The proposal focused on identifying the architectural and aesthetic values to be preserved, and on the use to be attributed to it in order to translate its rehabilitation into a costeffective and low-cost operation. The procedures dedicated to the rehabilitation of the property approach concepts related to its architectural value, its location, time, construction phases, and use, in face of current needs. The work carried out resulted in the conception of a feasible hypothesis to be used, in the context of the allotment project, currently underway in the city services, in relation to the space where the building is located. The purpose of this proposal is to install a tourist farm with characteristics of a Youth Hostel, in an articulated, integrated and profitable way. The models of the project, integrate technologies that aim to approach the stimulus of rehabilitation.
