The beef cattle industry has been facing several economic and environmental problems in the last decades, requiring a necessary maximization of its resources. The beef cattle production business, like other businesses, is evaluated at the end of the year by the producer regarding the growth or loss of revenue. For farms that opt for 6-month mating seasons, the control of gestation rates has to be more rigorous to not allow pregnancy losses in the 6 months that the bull is not present in the herd. In this study, by performing gestation diagnostics, animals that were not pregnant at the end of the breeding season were identified and, through vet hormonal intervention, we sought to present the financial and reproductive impact in order to increase the gestation rate of cows. Of the 4 beef cattle farms intervened in Alto Alentejo, all showed a considerable income increase of about 10 times the total cost of the intervention. In addition to the financial gain of the farm, the reproductive indices of the herd were consequently improved in relation to previous years. In summary, this study shows a positive impact of the MV intervention and consultancy, translating into financial and reproductive gains.
