Violência escolar na perspectiva dos jovens : contributos para a gestão e as práticas socioeducativas na escola básica 2, 3 Monte de Caparica

Abstract

Actualmente a escola enfrenta desafios complexos sendo preciso pensar e reflectir sobre alguns dos seus problemas como a violência escolar. A violência escolar surge sobretudo de interacções sociais entre alunos, contudo trata-se de um fenómeno com diversas dimensões e interpretações sem uma explicação única e com manifestações e gravidades diversas, com elementos que contribuem para a sua existência e permanência. Neste âmbito, quisemos compreender melhor o fenómeno da violência escolar privilegiando a perspectiva dos alunos. O pressente trabalho trata de um estudo de caso numa Escola Básica no Concelho de Almada. Para concretizar o estudo e dar voz aos alunos, realizámos um percurso iniciático pela metodologia mista com recurso a um inquérito por questionário aos alunos de três turmas do segundo e terceiro ciclos do Ensino Básico - 5º, 7º e 9º anos, uma entrevista colectiva a dez alunos de diferentes anos de escolaridade (com percursos e desempenhos escolares também diferentes), e ainda uma entrevista em profundidade a uma aluna dita problemática. Realizámos ainda três entrevistas a profissionais que se distinguem pelo seu percurso e desempenho profissional em contexto educativo. Os resultados do estudo apresentam percepções que os alunos têm da escola e da violência escolar permitindo-nos identificar formas de gestão e práticas socioeducativas que podem interferir na prevenção e redução da violência.

Nowadays school is facing complexes challenges and there’s a need to think and reflect about some of their problems like school violence. School violence emerge mainly due to social interactions between the students, although it’s a phenomenon with several dimensions and interpretations without a single explanation, with manifestations and different severity, with elements which contributes to their existence. In this context, we wanted to understand better the phenomenon of school violence, especially through the eyes of the students. This work is focused on a case study in Escola Básica, in Almada county. To materialize this study and give a voice to the students, we made an initial course by the mixed methodology with resource to questionnaire survey to the students of three classes of the second and third cicles of the Basic Education - 5th,7th and 9th degree, a collective interview to ten students of differents years of schooling (with different performances between them), and also an in-depth interview to a so called problematic student. It was also implemented three interviews to professionals, which their path and professional performance distinguish them in the educative context. The result of the study presents student’s perceptions about school and school violence, which permits to identify ways of management and social-educational practices which can interfere in prevention and reduction of school violence.
