Estudo de unidade de vizinhança e requalificação urbana: Musseque da Terra Nova, Luanda-Angola

Resumo
Os musseques são assentamentos de carácter informal localizados maioritariamente nas margens da cidade de Luanda, e representam fisicamente a segregação social no espaço urbano da cidade capital de Angola. Das causas do surgimento de musseques, constam a segregação racial, a segregação de classes no período colonial, imigração, êxodo rural, guerra colonial e civil e as consequências na economia nacional.
O bairro da Terra Nova foi identificado como unidade de vizinhança nos seus registos primários. A unidade de vizinhança seria então uma área residencial que dispõe de relativa autonomia com relação às necessidades quotidianas de consumo de bens e serviços urbanos.
Terra Nova é um bairro, localizado a sudoeste da cidade de Luanda, a 6 km do centro urbano da cidade. Foi construído na época colonial, na sequência de programas públicos e iniciativa de entidades privadas, de habitação social (gerando os bairros populares) para funcionários e operários de baixa e média renda, datado de 1972 à 1974.
Depois da independência, os chamados bairros populares, atingiram tamanha densificação e degradação que se assemelham aos atuais musseques informais.
Princípios de reabilitação tornam-se necessário na atuação sobre a realidade deste bairro, com vista a melhoria da funcionalidade urbana, adequando o território à funções pretendidas.
The musseques are informal settlements located mostly on the banks of the city of Luanda and physically represent social segregation in the urban space of the capital city of Angola. Of the causes of the emergence of musseques are racial segregation, class segregation in the colonial period, immigration, rural exodus, colonial and civil war, and the consequences on the national economy. The neighborhood of Terra Nova was identified as a neighborhood unit in its primary registers. The neighborhood unit would then be a residential area that has relative autonomy with respect to the daily needs of consumption of urban goods and services. Terra Nova is a neighborhood, located southwest of the city of Luanda, 6 km from the city's urban center. It was built in the colonial times, following public programs and initiative of private entities, social housing (generating the popular neighborhoods) for employees and low and middle-income workers, dating from 1972 to 1974. After independence, so-called popular neighborhoods have reached such densification and degradation that they resemble today's informal musseques. Principles of rehabilitation become necessary in acting on the reality of this neighborhood, with a view to improving urban functionality, adapting the territory to the intended functions.
