A amostra
The general purpose of this study was to analyze the relation between attachment, self-compassion and resilience with young adult’s social skills. The sample included 115 participants, 66 of which were men with ages averaging 19.27 years-old (DP=1.56) and 49 female gendered averaging 19.16 years old. The results revealed major differences between genders; girls reported more anxiety and more confidence in their relationships with other people, lower self-compassion in selfcritics and isolation. The male participants, showed a better self-perfection and more afraid of social exposure. Most of the young adults described a secure attachment during their childhood. Young adults with an insecure attachment showed to trust more often in other people, in self-criticism, isolation and over-identification of thoughts, while young adults with a secure attachment showed more social capabilities and resources. In the correlation analysis, connections were made between all variables except resilience with the social skills on young males. The structured styles and the isolation predicted the social skills on both males and females. Based on the literature we analyzed the results and their respective implications, in terms of prevention and intervention of social skills on young adults.
