This dissertation seeks to reflect on the barriers faced by people with physical disabilities (PWPD) when integrating into the labor market. The starting question was: “What barriers do PwPDs face when integrating into the labor market?”. In order to answer this question, 2 general objectives were set: 1) to find out the perspective of people with mobility disabilities on existing inclusion policies for their integration into the labor market, 2) to understand and learn about the process of integration into the labor market for people with mobility disabilities. The specific objectives include 1) identifying public policies for inclusion in the labor market and analyzing the perspective of people with motor disabilities, 2) understanding the process of integration into the labor market for people with motor disabilities, and 3) analyzing the challenges and barriers to integration that people with motor disabilities face during the process of integration into the labor market. The methodology used was semi-structured interviews, with a sample of 10 interviewees with physical disabilities, which were divided into 4 dimensions of analysis: (1) Characterization of the interviewees; (2) Perception of the labor market and the possibilities for the PwDs; (3) Knowledge about the responses to integration in thelabor market; (4) Barriers and challenges in accessing the labor market. The results highlight barriers related to a lack of accessibility, stereotypes and insufficient inclusive employment policies. This research suggests the need for more comprehensive inclusion policies focused on accessibility and education in the labor market.
