Neste sentido, a
analisam as metodologias arquitetónicas adequadas à reabilitação do património industrial,
This investigation project tackles the theme of rehabilitation of Industrial Patrimony, questioning the historical, architectonic and social importance of old factories and proposing a new future for them in the continuing practice of modifying and regenerating cities. In the last decades, the development of Lisbon has been arguably lacking in terms of integration of existing spaces, especially in old industrial quarters. These areas have become potential targets for revitalization, making way for innovation in how the city’s growth and life is thought about. This is why the topic of rehabilitation has been gaining strength, playing a fundamental role in the development of the architectonic discipline. It is therefore important to understand its relevance in the contemporaneity and identify what are the best ways of approaching rehabilitation for the future. Inseparable to the topic of rehabilitation of the city’s industrial parks is the matter of architectonic patrimony, particularly the industrial kind. It is then sought to understand its importance for future development and which elements we must preserve, due to their responsibility in representing these buildings. From there, a work of conjugating rehabilitation, maintenance and the protection of the currently existing patrimony is developed. Because of its importance, it is fundamental to preserve its integrity, thus adding value to its future role. In the context of the investigation in the city of Lisbon, the goal is to test the methodologies for reestablishing the relationship between the city and the obsolete building, once striking in its development but now left abandoned, namely the Pasta Factory and the Cookie Factory in the Old Military Maintenance of Lisbon. It is based on these two buildings and on several theoretical reflections and concepts on the safeguarding of architectonic patrimony that, with a practical project proposal, the adequate architectonic methodologies for industrial patrimony rehabilitation are analyzed.
