Resumo
Os profissionais, independentemente da área, devem dotar-se de competências, ao nível do
saber, do saber-fazer e do saber-ser. Quando abordamos uma área temática sensível, como o
abandono de idosos, o nível de competência dos profissionais, que contactam diretamente com
estes indivíduos, torna-se mais exigente.
Assim, definiu-se como objetivo geral desta investigação Conhecer as competências do AS na
intervenção com utentes institucionalizados em UCCI–ULDM e UMDR, vítimas de abandono.
Do universo constam AS que intervêm com utentes de UCCI–ULDM e UMDR, no território
português. Da amostra fazem parte 18 destes profissionais, escolhidos de forma aleatória, após
divisão por NUTS II. O modelo teórico utilizado para identificação e avaliação das
competências foi o de Le Boterf (2003).
Utilizou-se uma metodologia mista, através do método Delphi aplicando um inquérito aberto,
numa primeira fase, e um inquérito por questionário, com uma escala de Likert de cinco níveis,
numa segunda fase. Realizou-se um Focus Group com sete profissionais, que haviam, nas fases
anteriores, respondido aos questionários.
Com esta investigação reconhecemos que as competências mais valorizadas pelos Assistentes
Sociais, na resolução da problemática do abandono nas UCCI-ULDM e UMDR, incidem no
saber-fazer e que as estratégias mais utilizadas recaem sobre o trabalho em equipa/rede.
Professionals, regardless of the area, must equip themselves with skills, in terms of knowledge, know-how and know-how. When we approach a sensitive subject area, such as the abandonment of the elderly, the level of competence of the professionals, who are in direct contact with these individuals, becomes more demanding. Thus, the general objective of this investigation was defined to know AS's competences in the intervention with users institutionalized in UCCI-ULDM and UMDR, victims of abandonment. The universe includes AS that intervene with users of UCCI-ULDM and UMDR, in Portuguese territory. The sample comprises 18 of these professionals, chosen at random, after division by NUTS II. The theoretical model used to identify and assess competences was that of Le Boterf (2003). A mixed methodology was used, through the Delphi method, applying an open survey, in a first phase, and a questionnaire survey, with a five-level Likert scale, in a second phase. A Focus Group was carried out with seven professionals, who had, in the previous phases, answered the questionnaires. With this investigation, we recognize that the competences most valued by Social Workers, in solving the problem of abandonment in the UCCI-ULDM and UMDR, focus on know-how and that the most used strategies fall on teamwork/networking.
