Pensar o espaço mínimo, projetar no espaço mínimo: uma resposta a um programa multifamiliar no centro histórico de Paço de Arcos

Resumo
A temática da habitação mínima e do habitar mínimo foi uma problemática
amplamente estudada e experimentada na primeira metade do século XX, não apenas por
questões disciplinares teóricas, mas também para dar respostas a um problema real que
assolava a Europa e que precisava urgentemente de soluções viáveis e de fácil
implementação, num cenário pós-guerra económica e socialmente desfavorável.
O presente trabalho procura abordar o porquê da temática do espaço mínimo, quem
a trabalhou e desenvolveu e para quem foi pensada, demonstrando os seus fundamentos e
pensamentos que fizeram da habitação mínima um caso de estudo para os arquitetos a nível
mundial. As diferentes abordagens a esta temática por parte dos arquitetos e a forma como
estes pensamentos influeciaram e convergiram na legislação que ainda hoje está em vigor,
foram também objeto de estudo nesta dissertação. Foram também observados diversos casos
de estudo, das mais variadas proveniências, com o intuito de apresentar diferentes soluções
de habitação mínima.
Por fim, são desenvolvidas três propostas arquitetónicas distintas para habitação
multifamiliar, utilizando na sua composição os conhecimentos adquiridos nesta dissertação
relativos ao projetar habitação em espaços reduzidos. Deste modo, propõe-se uma solução
para o centro histórico de Paço de Arcos, tendo por base as três intervenções que partem de
pressupostos e condicionantes iguais, embora com diferentes necessidades e características
em termos tipológicos que produzem três soluções distintas, expondo diferentes organizações
do programa de habitação, bem como alguma variação tipológica nesta temática.
The minimum housing’s theme was a widely studied and experimented problematic in the 20th century first half, not only as a theoretical subject, but also to answer to a real problem that was taking Europe in its post war’s economical and socially affected scenery, and that urged for viable and easily applicable solutions. This present work intends to lean on the reason that gave birth to minimum dwelling’s theme, who worked and developed it and to whom was it imagined for, showing its motives and thoughts that made minimum housing a case study for architects worldwide. The way architect’s different approaches and thoughts influenced the actual legislation, were also studied in this dissertation. Thera are also plenty of different case studies to expose a variety of minimum housing solutions. At last, three distinct architectural solutions are developed to multifamily housing, using the knowledge and information acquired in this dissertation about inhabiting the minimum space. This way proposing a solution to historic center of Paço de Arcos, basing itself on the three interventions built under the same assumption and conditioning, even though they have different needs and features that produce three distinct solutions, showing different housing program models as well as some typological variation about this subject.
