A perceção das crianças e jovens sobre a medida de proteção de colocação em acolhimento residencial e possibilidade(s) de participação no processo

Resumo
A presente dissertação foi realizada no âmbito do Mestrado em Serviço Social, na especialização de Riscos e Violências nas Sociedades Atuais - Análise e Intervenção Social.
Num período em que se fala e se promove muito o superior interesse da criança, a vontade de dar “voz” às crianças levou-nos a procurar perceber a sua perceção sobre a medida de proteção de colocação em acolhimento residencial e sobre as possibilidade(s) da participação das mesmas no processo.
Desta forma, surge este trabalho de investigação, de cariz exploratório, sustentado numa metodologia qualitativa e tendo por objeto de estudo os jovens em acolhimento no Centro de Acolhimento Quinta dos Fidalgos.
Como instrumentos de recolha de dados, para além da utilização da técnica de entrevistas com guiões semi-estruturados, foram explorados dados recolhidos a partir dos processos individuais das crianças e jovens.
Ao longo dos discursos/das conversas ficou claro que as crianças e jovens consideraram-se em situação de risco/perigo antes do acolhimento, conseguindo identificar alguns dos motivos que os conduziram à medida de acolhimento. No entanto, se fosse uma decisão que estivesse nas suas mãos, quatro dos cinco jovens entrevistados acreditam que não aplicariam esta medida de acolhimento apesar de atualmente perceberem que foi uma medida necessária.
Relativamente à participação no Projeto de Vida as crianças consideram que têm participado no mesmo. No entanto, a forma de participação é considerada numa dimensão passiva, na medida em que passa pelo cumprimento das regras que lhes são indicadas. Dois dos cinco jovens entrevistados referem que participam através do cumprimento das regras do CAT, outros dois dando a sua opinião sobre o Projeto de Vida e, por último, um dos cinco jovens considera que saber o que se passa com o seu processo também é uma forma de participação.
Assim, através desta investigação focalizamos a nossa atenção no domínio do superior interesse da criança, colocando-a no centro da investigação social, procurando que seja este o procedimento a seguir por todos aqueles que diariamente trabalham em prol de uma sociedade pautada pelos direitos das suas crianças.

However, if it was a decision in their hands, four of the five young people interviewed replied that they would not apply this host measure even though they now realize that it was a necessary measure. Regarding the participation in the Life Project, the children consider that they participate in it. However the form of participation is seen differently. Two of the five young people interviewed say that they participate through compliance with the rules of the CAT, two others mention that it is done giving their opinion about the Life Project and finally one of the five young people, considers that knowing what is going on with their process It is also a form of participation. Thus through this research we focus our attention on the domain of the child's superior interest, placing it at the center of social research, seeking to be the procedure to be taken by all those who daily work for a society based on the rights of their children .
