Nas últimas décadas de intensa globalização, as grandes mudanças nos modelos de negócio, a concorrência e o crescente desenvolvimento tecnológico têm exigido que as empresas adaptem seus modelos de produção tradicionais para que sejam capazes de atender às necessidades de todas as partes interessadas relevantes. A adoção de tecnologias digitais nos processos organizacionais e de negócio é hoje amplamente aceite como uma das principais estratégias de transformação na indústria para alcançar melhorias substanciais na cadeia de valor. A transformação digital procura atender a estas mudanças de forma a modificar as formas de trabalhar, de mentalidade e modelo de negócio, promovendo processos mais modernos. Contudo, a implementação da arquitetura tecnológica necessária reveste-se normalmente de elevada complexidade. Para além de resultar num alto custo associado, verifica-se em muitos casos insucesso na implementação da transformação digital nas organizações. Por esta razão, os gestores e organizações necessitam de um roadmap capaz de auxiliá-los na definição de uma estratégia de transformação digital e abrir caminho para a sua implementação. O trabalho proposto e realizado nesta dissertação buscou identificar na literatura científica os modelos atuais para a definição desta estratégia de transformação digital e os passos para sua implementação, assim como analisá-los quanto á sua capacidade de guiar os gestores e organizações. Como resultado da investigação, identificou-se a falta de um roadmap que compreenda toda a extensão do desenvolvimento da estratégia e a sua implementação. Esta dissertação propõe assim um roadmap que procura acompanhar os gestores e organizações no processo de conceção, desenvolvimento e execução da respetiva transformação digital. Como resultado, foi desenvolvido um estudo de caso para verificar a utilização prática do roadmap que se demonstrou eficaz para os objetivos propostos.
In recent decades of intense globalization, major changes in business models, competition and increasing technological development have required companies to adapt their traditional production models so that they are able to meet the needs of all relevant stakeholders. The adoption of digital technologies in organizational and business processes is now widely accepted as one of the main transformation strategies in the industry to achieve substantial improvements in the value chain. Digital transformation seeks to address these changes in order to modify ways of working, mentality and business model, promoting more modern processes. However, implementing the necessary technological architecture is usually highly complex. As well as resulting in a high associated cost, in many cases the implementation of digital transformation in organizations fails. For this reason, managers and organizations need a roadmap that can help them define a digital transformation strategy and pave the way for its implementation. The work proposed and carried out in this dissertation sought to identify in the scientific literature the current models for defining this digital transformation strategy and the steps for its implementation, as well as analyzing them in terms of their ability to guide managers and organizations. As a result of the research, we identified the lack of a roadmap that encompasses the full extent of the strategy's development and implementation. This dissertation therefore proposes a roadmap that seeks to accompany managers and organizations in the process of designing, developing and implementing their digital transformation. As a result, a case study was developed to verify the practical use of the roadmap, which proved to be effective for the proposed goals.
