Resumo
Na atualidade, discutir sobre drogas, na sociedade brasileira, ainda é um paradoxo. A
visão de ilegalidade do objeto em questão é repassada para o âmbito judicial, ignorando
o influente papel da prática do uso de drogas no seio da saúde pública, tornando-se
assim um problema social, de maior gravidade, na família e na escola, o que demanda
ações políticas e sociais, integrando ações preventivas, de controle e de tratamento. Por
esta razão, a presente pesquisa tem como objetivo, investigar não só as implicações
causadas pelo uso de drogas no sucesso escolar, bem como nas relações da família,
tendo, como laboratório, a UNIDADE LUZ E VIDA, DA FAZENDA DA PAZ em Teresina-
Pi. Neste sentido, definem-se, como objetivos específicos: estudar as drogas, sobretudo
as ilícitas, no contexto sócio-histórico; identificar o nível de comprometimento no
processo ensino e aprendizagem entre estudantes usuários de drogas; e verificar as
relações de conflito existentes no âmbito familiar. Quanto ao aspecto metodológico, a
pesquisa apresenta resultados qualitativos e quantitativos, recorrendo a questionário
fechado e entrevistas gravadas. Os resultados permitem compreender um pouco da
problemática existente entre jovens escolares usuários de drogas tanto em ambiente
escolar, como familiar. Os resultados permitem a compreensão de que o uso de drogas
na atualidade, além de ser um problema social, é também uma preocupação de saúde
pública. E também que, tanto a família como as instituições de educação, encontram-se
fragilizadas e sem condições de enfrentamento da situação, em função de todo um
conjunto de limitações e desconhecimentos de que padecem.
The object in debate is prone to be seen under the light of illegality, thus is transferred to the judicial ground, consequently ignoring the influential role that is played by the consumption of drugs within the area of public health, making it a social problem of the gravest consequences both for family and school, which requires public and social actions, comprehending preventive, control and treatment actions. Due to the referred to situation, it is the objective of this research to study what are the implications caused by drug consumption on academic success as well as in family relations, and our laboratory was the UNIDADE LUZ E VIDA DA FAZENDA DA PAZ (Unit of Light and Life of Peace Farm) located in Teresina-Pi. In this sense we define the following as main objectives: study drugs, especially those that are illegal in a social and historic context; identify the level of commitment in the teaching learning process among students who are drug addicts; to check with the family of youngsters who are drug addicts relationships of conflict within the family unit. In as far as methodological aspect is concerned, we opted to use closed questionnaires and recorded interviews. The results allow for understanding of some existent issues caused between schoolchildren who consume and those who do not consume drugs both at school, and within the family ambit. The results also support the understanding that drug use today, besides being a social problem, is also a public health concern. Also, that both family and educational institutions are debilitated and unable to cope with the situation, something quite unfortunate for a so called “modern” society.
