In this context, this study addresses the fundamental role of the family in promoting the well-being of institutionalized older adults, highlighting the contribution of Social Services in mediating between families and institutions. The main objective of this study was to understand the impact of family presence on the quality of life and adaptation of older adults in institutions. It specifically focuses on the frequency of visits and the type of interactions (in person or remotely) and family support in the perception of health. It was also analyzed the role of institutions in promoting autonomy and well-being. The methodological approach adopted was quantitative. The results show that family interaction plays a crucial role in combating isolation and improving life satisfaction among older adults. The presence of family members reinforces the connection with personal identity and provides essential emotional support. On the other hand, the study highlighted challenges such as irregular visits and a lack of alignment between institutional activities and residents' interests. It is concluded that active family involvement is essential for more dignified aging. Greater integration between family and institutions is recommended, in addition to public policies that humanize care in institutional contexts, prioritizing not only physical health, but also the emotional and social well-being of the elderly.
