Resumo
O principal objetivo deste trabalho é explicar a necessidade e a importância de se in-vestir numa arquitetura sustentável em equipamentos de uso coletivo.
Numa primeira fase do trabalho faz-se uma explicação teórica e metodológica do tema da tese, debatendo a sustentabilidade.
A segunda fase do trabalho contextualiza o tema da construção sustentável de uma forma conceitual no cenário internacional. O tema na sua totalidade, lança desafios à pes-quisa, à prática e ao ensino.
No terceiro e último capítulo, pretende-se apresentar o museu de artes projetado para o espaço de intervenção, seguindo ao máximo os princípios da sustentabilidade ecológica e ambiental, que está inserido num quarteirão rodeado por áreas identificadas como de-gradadas, constituídas por habitações, comercio, serviços e equipamentos no centro da cidade do Porto.
Através do projeto pretende-se requalificar o espaço com jardins e uma praça, que são os seus complementares arquitetónicos, é com estes que as pessoas frequentadoras do espaço têm o primeiro contato. Esta metodologia visa não só a intervenção na requalifi-cação do espaço, mas também a reduzir o impacto da construção no ambiente uma vez que as mudanças climáticas são cada vez mais um tema premente. Tendo esta premissa como argumento principal, é sugerido que se opte por outros ma-teriais construtivos, a sua reutilização de modo a otimizar os recursos que o planeta nos fornece, promovendo desta forma a preservação dos ecossistemas. Conclui-se esta inves-tigação sublinhando o potencial da utilização desta metodologia para a realidade da ci-dade do Porto e para outras cidades que queiram adotar os mesmos métodos.
The main point of this work is to explain the necessity and importance of investing on a sustainable architecture in this case used on collective equipment. On the first stage of this work there is a theorical and methodological explanation of this thesis, debating sus-tainability. The second stage of this work will put in context the sustainable construction based on a conceptual point of view from the international scene. This theme in its totality, chal-lenges the research, the practice and the education. On the third and final chapter, its pretended to present the arts museum projected for the given space, following at its maximum the principles of ecologic sustainability, that is insert on a block surrounded of identified “degraded” areas, made of housings, com-merce, services and equipment in the center of Porto. With this project it’s pretended to requalify the space with gardens and a plaza, which are its architectonic complements, those are the first contact points that the people have with the space. This methodology looks forward not only to intercede on the requalifica-tion of the space, but also to reduce the impact of the construction on the environment once that the climate changes are more and more an urgent theme. Having this as the main argument, it’s suggested to opt on other construction materials, and its reuse in order to optimize the planet’s resources, promoting this way, the ecosys-tem preservation. This investigation it’s concluded by stressing the potential of using this methodology for the city of Porto’s reality and for other cities that want to adopt the same methods.
