habitual
The term dependence was defined, according to the WHO, as a mental and physical condition characterized by the need to consume substances, continuously or periodically, to experience sensations or avoid the discomfort of their absence. As a great source of information, the Internet turns out to be a problem, as it can be inappropriately and excessively used. Alcohol consumption, on the other hand, can negatively affect various areas of an individual's life, and there are several studies that have been carried out with the aim of understanding which are the determining risk factors for alcohol consumption. Consumption among university students has caused concerns for several years and the need for studies with this population has been demonstrated. The aim of this study was to evaluate the type of attachment of university students with behavioral addictions (internet use) and chemical addictions (alcohol consumption). The sample consisted of 260 university students, 224 female and 32 male, aged between 18 and 51 years old. As assessment instruments, the Socio-Demographic Questionnaire, AUDIT, IAT and ECR-RS were used. We were able to understand that alcohol dependence is not related to attachment, but rather to the fact that consumption, in this specific sample, seems to indicate that it is occasional and promoted by the context, being also used as a mechanism for cultural adaptation to the academic context. Internet addiction, on the contrary, demonstrates that it is correlated with adult attachment. Behavioral dependence begins to occur in adolescence, extending into higher education and becoming more structural and habitual.
