This internship report was carried out within the scope of the master’s degree in Football – from Training to High Competition, it was carried out in the senior team of the “Os Belenenses” Football Club, which competed in League 3, that is, the 3rd national football division, of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF), in the 2022/2023 season. During the internship period, the duties were carried out by the intern assistant coach, but above all, they were involved in the physical aspect of carrying out physical trainer tasks. With this, it helped in the operationalisation of training, especially in pre-training work (gym), the initial part of training (activation and preparation for the training objective), as well as functions in a competitive context (game warm-up, warm-up during the game). The squad consisted of 28 athletes; however, by having a B team, whenever necessary for training or games, we were able to easily have a more significant number of players available. The classification objectives set were to remain in League 3, which was successfully achieved, as it managed to surpass the initial objective, moving up from the initial division to Liga Portugal 2 SABSEG. We finished in 2nd place, moving up this way of division. During the sports season, a study was carried out to understand the impact of ice baths (cryotherapy), the aim of which was to obtain the athletes' perception regarding muscle recovery after carrying out two different protocols. To reach the conclusion that this method is perceived as a valuable method of muscle recovery, and with this to understand which of the two protocols is more suitable for each of the athletes. The results of this study demonstrated that cryotherapy is a method valued by athletes; however, there is no consensus on which method is best to perform. In conclusion, each athlete must perform the method that provides the most significant benefit in their muscle recovery. Keywords: Football, Training, Physical Preparation, Recovery Method, Muscle Recovery.
