Trauma-Informed Practices are a universal intervention approach crucial for the organizational culture of all institutions, aiming to understand and respond to trauma. Studies confirm that individuals incarcerated in the prison system "have a significant history of abuse and adversity, experiencing high levels of loss, trauma, victimization, and mental health problems." This scoping review aims to understand how Trauma-Informed Practices are applied within the prison system. To do so, we followed the PRISMA-P model guidelines, formulated a research equation, and conducted a search across a set of scientific databases. We identified 173 articles, but after screening and independent review by two researchers, seven studies met the inclusion criteria. The studies employ various methodologies, with the most common samples being incarcerated women, followed by prison professionals. The results indicate that Trauma Informed Practices are still underutilized in this context, despite demonstrating benefits for both inmates and professionals. This scoping review concludes that there is a shortage of scientific knowledge in this field and resistance in some prison facilities to implement these practices, despite the positive effects known of their implementation in systems that serve individuals with a history of trauma. Keywords: Adverse Childhood Experiences; Trauma; Trauma-Informed Practices; Prison System
