Comparação entre a cirurgia convencional e a endoscopia na remoção de corpos estranhos gastrointestinais

Resumo
A presença de corpos estranhos no trato gastrointestinal é uma urgência largamente observada na clínica de pequenos animais. No presente trabalho, realizado no âmbito da conclusão do Mestrado integrado em Medicina Veterinária, vão ser abordadas as diferentes técnicas cirúrgicas observadas no local de estágio, o Hospital Veterinário Vasco da Gama, tal como as suas vantagens e desvantagens. No decorrer do estágio curricular, foram observados dois casos de corpos estranhos em cães, retirados pelo método invasivo, nomeadamente gastrotomia e enterotomia, e dois casos de animais com presença de corpos estranhos retirados por endoscopia alta, método não invasivo. The presence of foreign bodies in the gastrointestinal tract is a widely observed urgency in small animal clinic. In the present work, carried out with the intent of concluding the Veterinary Medicine Master’s Degree, the different surgical techniques followed in the place of internship, the Vasco da Gama Veterinary Hospital, will be discussed, as well as its advantages and disadvantages. During the internship, two cases of foreign bodies in dogs were observed, which were withdrawn by an invasive method, namely gastrotomy and enterotomy, and two cases of animals with the presence of foreign bodies withdrawn by high endoscopy, a non-invasive method.
