Perante isto, o betão começa a perder terreno
poluente e economicamente bastante dispendioso.
refletir no sistema construtivo adoptado.

In the last century, reinforced concrete was the main tool for various types of constructions, namely for residential, collective, public use and still in interior and decorative use. Outside Europe, the use of concrete as a construction method has lost its impact, demonstrating a need for new, more effective construction solutions. One of these methods is the “Light Steel Frame” system, as an alternative to the use of reinforced concrete as the primary structure of the building. Increasingly nowadays, environmental concerns are a topic addressed daily in society, so we look for solutions for sustainable, rational and more environmentally friendly constructions. In view of this, concrete begins to lose ground compared to other construction methods, taking into account that this material is very polluting and economically very expensive. Solutions such as "Light Steel Frame" become more economical to build and maintain throughout the life of the building. Nowadays, it is quite visible the acceleration at the constructive level that comes to be reflected in the adopted constructive system. Constructive systems such as the “Light Steel Frame”, allow the construction of the building to become faster, more efficient, with little waste and reuse of this same material, years later. With this, the attribute of this type of buildings is portrayed in its sustainability, reflected at the housing level for those who live in it. Finally, having an alternative to traditional constructions does not mean that reinforced concrete constructions will be forgotten, but it is a step towards the future where we look closely at the economy, sustainability and the environment. Keywords: Light Steel Frame, light steel, architecture, sustainable, mixed constructions
