O síndrome de burnout em professores do ensino superior: um estudo numa IES do interior do Ceará, Brasil

Resumo
Nos dias atuais, os professores vivem sob forte pressão das IES, devido a diversos fatores,
dentre eles o número de horas trabalhadas, que muitas vezes é extremamente extensa e pela
grande quantidade de aluno em sala de aula, contribui para elevar o nível de estresse. A
síndrome de Burnout, também conhecida como síndrome do esgotamento profissional, é um
distúrbio que tem como principal característica o estado de tensão emocional e estresse
crônico gerado pelas condições de trabalho. A dissertação fundamenta-se em uma pesquisa
bibliográfica e de campo, empreendendo uma análise descritiva, exploratória e quantitativa
com dados primários e secundários, cujo principal instrumento de coleta de dados foi o
questionário aplicado a 100 professores de uma instituição de ensino superior. Ao final
constatou-se que o estresse é uma tentativa de adaptação e não está relacionado apenas ao
trabalho, mas ao cotidiano de vida experimentado pelo sujeito. É importante destacar também
que todo trabalhador sofre os efeitos do estresse, seja em menor ou maior escala, haja em
vista que os fatores estressores estão presentes no cotidiano dos mesmos. Destaca-se que a
síndrome de Burnout é um estado de estresse, contudo em um estágio mais crônico.
Nowadays, teachers are under strong pressure in the IES, due to several factors, including the number of hours worked, which is often extremely extensive and the large number of students in the classroom, helps to raise the level of stress . The Burnout syndrome, also known as the burnout syndrome is a disorder that has as main characteristic the state of emotional stress and chronic stress generated by working conditions. The dissertation is based on a literature and field research, undertaking a descriptive, exploratory and quantitative analysis with primary and secondary data, the main data collection instrument was a questionnaire applied to 100 teachers of a higher education institution. At the end it was found that stress is not a disease, but an attempt to adapt and is not related only to work but to the everyday life experienced by the subject. It is also important to note that every worker suffers the effects of stress, either in greater or lesser extent, there is a view that the stressors are present in the daily life of the same. It is noteworthy that the Burnout syndrome is a state of stress, yet in a more chronic stage.
