durante as consultas.
The covid-19 pandemic had a great impact on people’slives, requiring a series of adaptations and changes in routine and resulting in several impacts on financial, emotional, health and psychotherapy processes. The objective of this study was to understand how did clients experienced receiving psychotherapy in the pandemic context. Fifteen participants who were having psychological consultations during the pandemic were selected. Later a semi structured interview was applied, which was further analyzed according to the methodology of thematic analysis. Through the analysis, three central themes emerged, the first being “general experience of the pandemic”, where the subthemes positive experience and negative experience were obtained; the second referred to “online psychotherapy”, which had the subthemes advantages and disadvantages; and, finally, the theme “face-to-face psychotherapy”, which also had advantages and disadvantages as subthemes. Faced with such themes and with the analysis of the data, it was possible to identify that, in the topic of online psychotherapy, the greatest advantage reported by the participants referred to the trust they felt in the platform used to carry out the consultations, and as the main disadvantage the participants mentioned the lack of privacy during consultations. Regarding the topic face to-face psychotherapy, the main advantage was the fact that face-to-face consultations contributed to the establishment of a good therapeutic relationship, and, as disadvantage, a greater number of participants referred the use of the mask, as it was identified as causing discomfort and making verbal communication difficult. That said, it is possible to say that this process brought several challenges, possibilities, and limitations, which will be properly discussed later in this work.
