as diferentes dimensões do bem-estar sexual.
Academic Search Complet, Eric, Pubmed, Scopus, Web Of Science. A pesquisa
compulsão/ evitação sexual e intimidade no relacionamento.
No entanto, poucos
estudos empíricos testaram as associações entre outros tipos de maus-tratos (abuso físico,
abuso psicológico e negligência) e o bem-estar sexual. Com base nos resultados, este
trabalho discute áreas de investigação futura e implicações clínicas.

The concept of sexual well-being has received particular attention in research and ublic policy over the past decade. It has been suggested that adverse experiences throughout development may influence sexual well-being in adulthood, but not much is known about how different types of childhood maltreatment are associated with different dimensions of sexual well-being. In fact, the purpose of this study was to conduct a survey of the literature that examined the impact of childhood maltreatment on sexual well-being in adulthood. To this end, empirical articles published in scientific journals indexed in the following electronic databases were selected: Academic Search Complet, Eric, Pubmed, Scopus, Web Of Science. The search found a total of 2950 articles, 21 of which were included in the systematic review. The studies were selected by two researchers, taking into account five previously defined exclusion criteria. The results showed negative associations between maltreatment in childhood and sexual well-being in adulthood, with particular focus on sexual compulsion/ avoidance and relationship intimacy. Sexual abuse was type of maltreatment that has the greatest impact on sexual well-being in adulthood. However, few empirical studies have tested the associations between other types of maltreatment (physical abuse, psychological abuse, and neglect) and sexual well-being. Based on the findings, this paper discusses areas for future research and clinical implications. Keywords: Maltreatment; Sexual well-being; Abuse; Systematic review
