As Jornadas Mundiais da Juventude são um dos maiores eventos religiosos do mundo e têm impactado a vida de muitos jovens desde a sua primeira edição, em 1986, em Roma, com o Papa João Paulo II. Neste trabalho, tentou entender-se quais foram os impactos que as Jornadas Mundiais da Juventude deixaram nos jovens portugueses. Procurou perceber-se que lacunas estes jovens encontraram nas edições em que participaram, de forma a contribuir para a organização da próxima edição, que decorrerá em Lisboa, no Verão de 2023. Para isso, foi também importante conhecer o que se tem vindo a fazer na preparação do evento, tendo como recurso alguns depoimentos de membros do Comité Organizador Local.
The World Youth Day is one of the biggest religious events in the world and it has impacted the lives of many young people since the first edition in 1986 in Rome with the Pope John Paul II. In this essay, we tried to understand which were the impacts that the World Youth Day left in the Portuguese young people. We tried to understand what weaknesses these young people found in the editions in which they participated, in order to contribute to the organization of the next edition that will take place in Lisbon, in the summer of 2023. For this, it was also important to know what has been done in the preparation of the event, using some statements from members of the Local Organization Committee.
