In equine sports medicine, podiatry has gained increasing importance in the management and prevention of injuries, since proper shoeing prevents soft tissue injuries and reduces the incidence of inflammatory responses at the joint level. The aim of this study is to assess whether it is possible to standardize the location of breakover points, taking into account the distance from the white line to the apex of the frog on the palmar surface of the hoof, without resorting to radiology. To this end, using radiopaque markers and the x-ray machine, several measurements were made. which were later analyzed with the help of the SPSS program. The aim would be to standardize the breakover point without resorting to auxiliary technological devices. After fixing the markers, two lateromedial radiographs were taken of each hoof of the forelimbs. Then, measurements were carried out in order to standardize the breakover points. Although the study demonstrates that there is a relevant heterogeneity from animal to animal, the conclusions obtained are not discouraging, since all information is essential.
