Bullying racial nas escolas: a importância de implementação de práticas sociais como forma da prevenção no combate ao bullying

Resumo
A presente dissertação procurou explorar a problemática do bullying racial nas escolas entre os pares. Pretende-se contribuir para uma tomada de consciência coletiva desta problemática e propor soluções que só se tornarão realidade, se formos capazes de transmitir às crianças e adolescentes, o respeito e a tolerância para com os outros. As estatísticas revelam um aumento dos casos do bullying em Portugal.
À problemática consiste em identificar os fatores que podem facilitar a ocorrência de comportamentos racistas, em casos afirmativos deve-se ter conhecimento dos intervenientes pretendendo solucionar o problema e sobretudo, apoiar as crianças e adolescentes que são vítimas deste tipo de situações. Neste campo, não será demais lembrar que apenas a educação pode mudar valores, contribuindo para a valorização da diversidade e para a construção de respeito recíproco entre os alunos.
Tendo em conta a problemática acima referida, e como forma de orientar a investigação realizada, recorreu-se a um objetivo, saber qual a implicação que o bullying racial tem no percurso escolar e no desenvolvimento dos alunos.
Trata-se de um estudo transversal e a amostra é composta por 54 alunos de ambos os sexos, com idades compreendidas entre os 8 aos 14 anos de idade, que frequentam o primeiro, segundo e terceiro ciclo, e foi realizado, na Associação de Academia do Jonhson, onde foi constatado que, uma grande maioria dos alunos é de etnia africana e afrodescendente.
O trabalho desenvolveu-se através de uma metodologia mista “quantitativa e qualitativa” e os instrumentos de recolha de dados foram recolhidos através de um questionário aplicado aos alunos e à aplicação de entrevistas semi-estruturadas a um grupo restrito de funcionários, analisando os dados através da análise do conteúdo. Para uma maior compreensão da temática recorreu-se a uma revisão da literatura em trabalhos científicos, artigos especializados, pesquisas académicas realizadas na Internet, analisou-se estudos que privilegiaram a reflexão sobre o impacto do bullying racial nos alunos em contexto escolar.
A violência é um comportamento anti-social, cujas repercussões têm aumentado, sobretudo nas comunidades mais jovens e entre pares, manifestando-se através de comportamentos desajustados, com a pretensão de magoar, maltratar, humilhar ou causar dano a alguém física ou psicologicamente.

This dissertation sought to explore the problem of racial bullying in schools among peers. It is intended to contribute to a collective awareness of this problem and to propose solutions that will only become reality if we are capable of transmitting respect and tolerance towards others to children and adolescents. Statistics reveal an increase in cases of bullying in Portugal. The problem consists of identifying the factors that can facilitate the occurrence of racist behavior, if so, one must be aware of the actors intending to solve the problem and, above all, support children and adolescents who are victims of this type of situation. In this field, it is important to remember that only education can change values, contributing to valuing diversity and building mutual respect among students. Taking into account the aforementioned problem, and as a way of guiding the investigation carried out, an objective was resorted to, to know the implication that racial bullying has on the school career and on the development of students. This is a cross-sectional study and the sample is made up of 54 students of both sexes, aged between 8 and 14 years old, who attend the first, second and third cycle, and it was carried out at Association academy of Johnson, where it was found that a large majority of students are of African and Afro-descendant ethnicity. The work was developed through a mixed methodology "quantitative and qualitative" and the data collection instruments were collected through a questionnaire applied to the students and the application of semi-structured interviews to a restricted group of employees, analyzing the data through of content analysis. For a better understanding of the subject, a review of the literature was carried out in scientific works, specialized articles, academic research carried out on the Internet, studies were analyzed that focused on reflection on the impact of racial bullying on students in the school context. Violence is an antisocial behavior, whose repercussions have increased, especially in younger communities and among peers, manifesting itself through inappropriate behavior, with the intention of hurting, mistreating, humiliating or causing harm to someone physically or psychologically.
