The object of this study is the relationship with the final academic exercise of the Project V Curricular Unit of the Integrated master’s degree in architecture, which consists of a project for an urban park that includes a public facility - a swimming pool complex and support services - for the Rua do Ouro area in the city of Porto. This dissertation is based on the architectural programme in its relationship with the intervention process and site. The fundamental objective is to understand the impact of the programme on the architectural process. Thus, this dissertation aims to interpret the differences and similarities during the creation process for two programmes in the same intervention site. The search to identify the individual architectural process resulted from the interpretation of the idea of architecture developed throughout the academic learning process, and from an understanding of the architectural principles of other architects of reference for the author. Starting from the systematization of the process into eight structural points, the programmes of the place, past and present, and the proposed programmes, called future programmes, are analyzed. To frame the current state of the intervention plot, we begin by deconstructing the process of the Fábrica do Gás do Ouro and Bairro do Aleixo projects. This is followed by an analysis of the Project V proposal, as well as an alternative housing proposal, to interpret the characteristics of the author's architectural process in two different programmes. This comparison of two personal projects made it possible to question the architectural process and thus conclude on the influence of the programme on the relationship established with the site and the existing urban form. Keywords: Programme, Architectural process, Place, Urban form, Rua do Ouro
