A maior parte dos hobbies são essenciais para o desenvolvimento inteletual.
Contudo também podem ser utilizados de forma abusiva revelando um padrão desadaptativo de funcionamento. O presente estudo objetiva conhecer a relação dos hobbies com a psicopatologia. Todos os participantes da nossa amostra têm hobbies e a todos foi administrado um protocolo de avaliação que incluía um: questionário sociodemográfico e o Inventário de Sintomas Psicopatológicos (BSI; Canavarro, 1999; Derogatis, 1982).
O questionário sociodemográfico foi utilizado para reunir informações acerca do
sexo, da idade, do estado cívil, do número de filhos, do nível de escolaridade, e da profissão; além disso, incluía questões relacionadas com o tipo de hobbies, o tempo despendido com esse hobby, e, por fim, numa escala de 0 a 100 os participantes deveriam enumerar a importância que esse hobby tem.
Embora tenhamos encontrado alguns resultados que nos indiciam a existência de
diferenças nos valores dos sintomas psicopatológicos em função de diferentes categorias de hobbies, a verdade é que estes valores estão dentro dos valores normais encontradas pela autora do instrumento utilizado para avaliar a psicopatologia.
Most of the hobbies are essential to the intellectual development. However, they can also be abusively used, revealing a pattern maladaptive of functioning. The present study aims to know the relation between hobbies and psychopathology. All the participants of our sample as hobbies and to all was administered an evaluation protocol that included a: sociodemographic questionnaire and the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI; Canavarro, 1999; Derogatis, 1982). The sociodemographic questionnaire was utilized to gather information about sex, age, marital status, number of children, level of education and profession; besides that, it included questions related to the kind of hobbies, the time spent with that hobby, and, at last, in a scale from 0 to 100, the participants should enumerate the importance that hobby has. Though we have found some results that indicate the existence of differences in the values of psychopathological symptoms due to different categories of hobbies, the truth is that this values are in the normal values found by the author of the instrument utilized to evaluate a psychopathology.
