Violência no namoro: perceção dos adolescentes em escolas no concelho do Montijo

A literatura de referência em contexto nacional e internacional é unânime ao afirmar que a violência no namoro entre os jovens pode provocar impactos negativos, quer na atual vivência, quer no seu desenvolvimento futuro. O presente estudo apresenta como principal objetivo o de estudar os níveis de legitimação da violência no namoro entre os jovens no concelho do Montijo, no qual se constatou uma ausência de estudos sobre o tema. A amostra compreendeu 454 alunos, entre os 15 e os 21 anos, sendo 63,2% do sexo feminino e 36,8% do sexo masculino. A abordagem metodológica utilizada foi a quantitativa e a recolha de dados foi realizada através do instrumento, inquérito por questionário, contendo a caracterização sociodemográfica e o EAVN. Alguns dos resultados mais relevantes observados evidenciam que o tipo de violência com mais elevado nível de legitimação se encontra associado à violência psicológica, decrescendo para a física e sexual. Relativamente à relação desta legitimação com as características dos jovens, observamos níveis de legitimação mais elevados associados aos jovens do sexo masculino, com maior número de retenções escolares, residentes em habitação social, inseridos em agregados familiares mais numerosos, de famílias com menores rendimentos, com hábitos de consumos de álcool, drogas, medicação e de jogar a dinheiro online, que são vítimas e agressores de violência no namoro.

The literature of reference in national and international contexts is unanimous in stating that dating violence among young people can cause negative impacts, both in their current experience and in their future development. The main objective of this study is to study the levels of legitimation of dating violence among young people in the municipality of Montijo, where there is a lack of studies on the subject. The sample comprised 454 students, between 15 and 21 years old, being 63,2% female and 36,8% male. The methodological approach used was quantitative and data collection was carried out through a questionnaire survey instrument, containing sociodemographic characterization and the EAVN. Some of the most relevant results observed show that the type of violence with the highest level of legitimacy is associated with psychological violence, decreasing to physical and sexual violence. With regard to the relationship between this legitimation and the young people's characteristics, we observed higher levels of legitimation associated with young men, with a higher number of school failures, living in social housing, belonging to larger households, from families with lower income, with habits of alcohol, drug and medication consumption and online gambling, who are victims and perpetrators of dating violence.
