Tipo de parto e dificuldades no envolvimento emocional da mãe com o bebé : o papel do parto traumático

A experiência de parto traumático pode promover dificuldades no envolvimento emocional da mãe com o bebé. O presente estudo visa contribuir para uma melhor interpretação do bem-estar emocional da mãe, que por sua vez tem impacto no bebé, promovendo uma compreensão mais profunda das interações complexas entre o tipo de parto, o parto traumático e as dificuldades no envolvimento emocional da mãe com o bebé. Neste sentido, este trabalho teve como objetivo principal analisar a associação entre o tipo de parto e dificuldades no envolvimento emocional da mãe com o bebé, considerando o parto traumático como um possível mecanismo explicativo nesta associação. A amostra foi constituída por 178 mães nos dois meses após o parto, recrutadas no Centro Hospitalar São João, no Porto e na Maternidade Dr. Alfredo da Costa, em Lisboa. As participantes preencheram um questionário sociodemográfico e instrumentos para avaliar a perceção de parto traumático (avaliado utilizando um único item) e as dificuldades no envolvimento emocional da mãe com o bebé (Questionário de Ligação ao Bebé após o Nascimento). Os resultados revelaram uma associação positiva entre o tipo de parto instrumentado e cesariana de emergência e o parto traumático, pelo que quando o tipo de parto é através de cesariana ou parto instrumentado, a probabilidade do parto ser traumático tende a aumentar em comparação com outros tipos de parto. Não se verificou uma associação entre o tipo de parto e as dificuldades no envolvimento emocional da mãe com o bebé e o mesmo entre o parto traumático e as dificuldades no envolvimento emocional da mãe com o bebé. Estudos futuros são sugeridos para avaliar estratégias de coping e suporte para gerir o parto traumático, para percebermos as implicações no envolvimento emocional da mãe com o bebé. The results revealed that the type of birth is positively associated with traumatic birth. There was no association between the type of birth and difficulties in the mother's emotional involvement with the baby and the same between traumatic birth and difficulties in the mother's emotional involvement with the baby. In future studies, it is suggested that coping strategies and support for managing a traumatic birth be evaluated, to understand the implications for the mother's emotional involvement with the baby.
