As autoridades
Wine tourism is a segment from the tourist activity, where the focus is the wine. Besides the appreciation for wine, the wine tourist travels also moved by the culture, territory, history, and traditions of the selected region. Wine tourism to achieve its prestigious role as a driver of rural development essentially needs elements such as innovation, alliance, and coordination. The idea is to continue or even develop wine tourism with the connection to the territory, the traditions, and the local products. This will give rise to new job opportunities and the inclusion of rural areas. Attracting more and more national and international visitors throughout the year is also a purpose to be acquired. Consumers are increasingly looking for tourism in rural and open-air areas, assuming this is the case, wine tourism is now much more in demand and consequently growth levels are increasing significantly. Local authorities are the most responsible for the valorization of the territory and heritage, however, it is important to promote and develop territorial cohesion and differentiation can be the great asset. The main objective of this study is to study, examine, and compare two wine regions, the Douro and Vaucluse, which do not function in the same way. Both regions have different techniques, and this dissertation is there to prove it. This work was practiced in the field, i.e., in both countries and through the internet. Besides the presential study of the two areas, interviews were made with people in charge of farms or cooperatives, to complete and answer all the questions that were initially asked. The main conclusion drawn from all this work is the difference present in all fields, from the agricultural work to the sale of the products and services produced.
