norte do Brasil.
três seguimentos do setor elétrico brasileiro.
The objective of this work is to evaluate the utilization rate of the Toyota Production System (STP) tools, as well as to identify impediments to its development in the areas of logistics supporting generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy in Brazil, aiming, through real evidence. To propose the principles of STP as a model in the management of those areas for a large hydroelectric power plant in the northern region of Brazil. To do so, it was used the strategic research method of the survey type with data collection technique used through questionnaires, where in a universe of 291 companies, it was taken a sample of 33 of the main companies of the three segments of the Brazilian electric sector. After the data were collected, they were plotted in spreadsheets using Excel software to generate graphs that could facilitate the understanding of the research object, as well as analyze the situation of the companies studied and propose the model based on the STP. The results of the research revealed that all companies are far from the management model practiced by the STP and, as a conclusion, it is suggested the application of the philosophy and management principles to the companies of the sector.
