Resumo
This thesis explores the implementation of project-based methodology as a pedagogical strategy to foster motivation and engagement in Drawing A classes within the context of Secondary Education. Using the project "Ecotopia – Expressing Change" as a case study, the research examines the impact of this approach on students' learning processes, emphasizing transdisciplinarity and the development of critical awareness about environmental issues. The main goal is to demonstrate how contemporary themes, combined with innovative teaching methods, can transform the educational experience, improving both academic results and personal involvement of students. The adoption of project-based learning is grounded in action-research principles, enabling a cyclical process of planning, implementation, and reflection. The project "Ecotopia – Expressing Change" was conducted with an 11th-grade AV1 class and included activities such as human figure studies, the creation of visual narratives, and the organization of a final exhibition. These activities integrated various disciplines and actively involved the school community. The results reveal a significant increase in student motivation and engagement, attributed to the relevance of the chosen theme and the use of participatory strategies. Additionally, the study highlights the positive impact of transdisciplinary approaches in fostering students' understanding of the connections between art and society. This research contributes to the field of visual education by demonstrating how project-based learning can effectively address the challenges of contemporary education.
