As alterações associadas ao processo de reforma podem influenciar a adaptação e a Qualidade de Vida inerentes ao processo de envelhecimento saudável. Revela-se pertinente compreender e caraterizar a relação entre a Esperança, a Saúde Psicológica e o Suporte Social, no processo de Reforma. O presente estudo parte de uma amostragem não probabilística por conveniência, recolhida a partir de instituições nacionais. A população é composta por 1127 participantes, com idades compreendidas entre os 55 e 84 anos, sendo que 60.5% são do género feminino e 39.5% do género masculino. 41.1% são profissionalmente ativos e 58.9% reformados. Trata-se de um estudo transversal exploratório, com recurso a análises descritivas, análises de comparação de grupos, correlações de Pearson e modelo de mediação e moderação. Os resultados apontam para o efeito mediador do Suporte Social na relação entre a Esperança e a Qualidade de Vida Psicológica e para o efeito moderador da Situação Profissional na relação entre o Suporte Social e a Qualidade de Vida Psicológica (i.e., efeito superior nos trabalhadores). A situação profissional não apresentou efeito moderador nas relações entre a Esperança e a Qualidade de Vida e entre a Esperança e o Suporte Social. O estudo permite concluir que o Suporte Social pode influenciar a forma como a Esperança impacta a Qualidade de Vida Psicológica. Pretende contribuir-se para a criação de intervenções direcionadas à promoção do Suporte Social no trabalho e da Esperança, promovendo-se a Qualidade de Vida e o envelhecimento saudável. Retirement can influence adaptation and quality of life in the healthy aging process. As such, it is relevant to understand and characterize the relation between hope, psychological health, and social support in the retirement process. Participants were 1127, 60.5% of which female and 39.5% male, with ages ranging between 55 and 84 years old. 41.1% of the respondents were working and 58.9% were retired. The study is based on a non-probabilistic convenience sampling, collected from national institutions. It is an exploratory cross-sectional study in wich were used descriptive analyses, group comparison analyses, Pearson correlations and a mediation and moderation model. Results showed the mediator effect of the Social Support in the relation between Hope and Psychological Quality of Life. The results also showed the moderator effect of the professional situation in the relation between Social Support and Psychological Quality of Life (greater effect in working participants). Professional situation did not present a moderating effect on the relations between Hope and Quality of Life and between Hope and Social Support. This study allows us to conclude that Social Support can influence the way that Hope impacts Psychological Quality of Life. It aims to contribute to the creation of interventions focused on promoting social support at work and Hope, promoting Quality of Life and improving the healthy aging process.
