Pre-fabrication is a constructive system where construction is carried out in industries, which are destined for this purpose, outside shipyards. It is a method that is in constant progress and is associated with the industrialization process of civil construction. The prefabricated construction system is a consolidated method in many places around the world. In Portugal, although it is already widely used, its use turns out to be more directed to industrial buildings, and when used for residential purposes it is done without a concern for its shape. In addition, the method still suffers from prejudice both by the population and by professionals in the field, inherited from the post-war era where there was a mass use of this system and which resulted in repetitive and low-quality works. In the face of social and technological development, the emergence of new materials and new techniques that can improve the time and cost of buildings, the topic of Prefabricated Buildings appears as a constructive solution for the future. Reason why it was decided to study and deepen knowledge on the subject, namely in the context of residential constructions in Portugal, in order to understand the entire design process for this type of construction, from conception to its construction.
