Este trabalho investiga o papel da paisagem na representação da fronteira galego-portuguesa. A sua
metodologia empírica incluiu a realização de um filme durante o período da investigação, a curta metragem Nós-Outros (2022) 12”. O filme constitui o corpo essencial do trabalho, na medida em
que é a partir deste que se procura testar a hipótese segundo a qual, através da representação da
paisagem desta região de fronteira, nos encontramos frente a um território único onde os limites
estão diluídos. A antítese da identidade e a não identidade é convocada em Nós-Outros sugerindo
que uma depende da outra, e assim, que ao olhar para as paisagens de Portugal se possa
compreender a Galiza e vice-versa. A curta-metragem tem como protagonista o Rio Minho que
durante os seus últimos 75 km atua como fronteira entre os dois países, colocando a representação
da natureza no centro da atenção, Nós-Outros trata de ocupar o espaço existente entre duas partes, o
encontro entre duas forças.
O tema da representação da paisagem em geral e o seu uso no cinema galego em particular são
abordados visando compreender a relação entre os cineastas galegos com a paisagem desta
fronteira. Os filmes Arraianos (2012) de Eloy Enciso e A Raia (2012) de Iván Castiñeiras, fazem
parte desta análise, pois constituem, a nosso ver, exemplos práticos da relação do cinema com a
paisagem da fronteira galego-portuguesa.
This paper investigates the role of landscape in the representation of the Galician-Portuguese border. Its empirical methodology included the making of a film during the research period, the short film Nós-Outros (2022) 12". The film makes up the essential body of the work, as it is from this film that an attempt is made to test the hypothesis according to which, through the representation of the landscape of this border region, one finds oneself facing a unique territory where limits are dissolved. The antithesis of identity and non-identity is summoned up in Nós Outros, suggesting that one depends on the other, and thus, that by looking at the landscapes of Portugal one can understand Galicia and vice-versa. The short film has as its protagonist the Minho River that during its last 75 km acts as the border between the two countries, placing the representation of nature in the center of attention, Nós-Outros is about occupying the existing space between two parts, the meeting of two forces. The theme of landscape representation in general and its use in Galician cinema in particular are addressed aiming to understand the relationship between Galician filmmakers with the landscape of this border. The films Arraianos (2012) by Eloy Enciso and A Raia (2012) by Iván Castiñeiras, are part of this analysis, as they are, in our view, practical examples of the relationship of cinema with the landscape of the Galician-Portuguese border
