e socialmente democrática, numa escola pública no município do Huambo. Recorremos
escolar eficaz.
The school can only respond to society's expectations with effective management. But for this, it will have to adopt management models that promote the quality of teaching and learning. In this context, our objective was to analyze how the school community perceives the role of the manager/director in the construction of a quality and socially democratic school in a public school in the municipality of Huambo. We used a methodology with a mixed approach, applying a questionnaire to teachers with more than five years of teaching career and an interview with the school manager/director. With this research it was concluded that the improvement of teaching quality in the school is related to the implementation of a democratic and participatory management system, as well as the existence of an effective educational project. Infact, while most teachers assume that the opinions of the different segments of the community are not always heard and taken into consideration by the direction, the manager/director mentions that he promotes monthly meetings with teachers, parents and class delegates, in order to find out about the problems existing in the school, in the promotion of an effective school management.
