Cosmetics play a very important role, not only at the aesthetic level, but also in the maintenance of skin health and as an adjunct to the treatment of various skin diseases. The use of cosmetic products has existed for thousands of years, but due to technological advances and environmental awareness, in recent decades there has been a significant increase in the demand for ingredients of natural and renewable origin for the formulation of such products. In this context, insects have shown to have several benefits, both for nature, because they have low environmental impact, among other advantages, and also benefit man, due to the natural bioactives that are part of their biomass. This dissertation aims to make a review of the current use of ingredients obtained from insects, as well as to evaluate consumer receptivity on the use of cosmetic products with this type of compounds. To this end, data were collected from an online questionnaire to consumers of both genders, obtaining a sample of 405 respondents. The results showed that consumers are not very familiar with this type of cosmetic product, but at the same time, when asked about the likelihood of trying or recommending cosmetic products that use materials extracted from insects, most of them agreed that it was "Likely" and "Very Likely". After this study we can see the need for more information and studies on the subject, so that consumers can learn more about the benefits of these alternative ingredients, and thus increase their acceptance.
