Resumo
O presente estudo tem como objetivo explorar a associação entre a consciência crítica e
a competência multicultural, explorando ainda o seu contributo para a capacidade de
deteção de microagresssões classistas ou étnico-raciais em contexto de psicoterapia.
Método: A amostra inclui 64 participantes, com idades entre os 19 e os 56 anos (M =
29.5, DP = 10.8), 49 (76.6%) identificadas com o género feminino, 10 (15.6%) com o
masculino e 2 (3.1%) com um género não binário. O protocolo de medidas inclui:
seguintes instrumentos: Comtemporary Critical Consciousness Measure (CCCM;
Diemer et. al, 2014); o Short Critical Consciousness (SHoCC Diemer et al., 2020); o
Inventário de Desigualdade Percebida (IDP-R Cabral et al. 2018); Cultural Competence
Self-Assessment Checklist (CCSAC Greater Vancouver Island Multicultural Society,
2012); Cenários para Deteção de Microagressões e Avaliação da Sensibilidade
Multicultural; Resultados: Foram observados valores de significância na associação
entre a consciência crítica, competência multicultural, capacidade de detetar
microagressões e sensibilidade multicultural. Conclusões: Os resultados confirmam a
importância da consciência crítica para a deteção de microagressões e sensibilidade
multicultural. São discutidos os efeitos da desejabilidade social, das atitudes de
daltónicas e das crenças meritocráticas. Releva-se o desenvolvimento de estratégias
promotoras de competências multiculturais.
