| dc.description.abstract | O conceito de crescimento pós-traumático (CPT) pressupõe a ocorrência de transformações positivas derivadas de acontecimentos negativos e significativos para o sujeito. Por ser um construto relativamente recente, é ainda um pouco reduzida a literatura acerca de fatores que influenciem (ou não) este processo, particularmente no âmbito da vitimação. O presente estudo teve como objetivo central analisar o papel moderador do suporte social percebido na relação entre vitimação juvenil e crescimento pós-traumático. A amostra foi composta por 220 participantes, com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 76 anos (M = 38.95, DP = 15.89), e maioritariamente do sexo feminino (63.3%). Os dados foram recolhidos online, através da aplicação de um questionário sociodemográfico, e versões adaptadas do Questionário de Vitimação Juvenil, do Inventário de Crescimento Pós Traumático, e da Escala Multidimensional de Suporte Social Percebido. Os resultados obtidos revelaram um efeito de moderação do suporte percebido da família nas relações entre: crescimento pós-traumático e vitimação total, maus-tratos dos cuidadores e vitimação por pares/comunidade. Constatou-se, no entanto, que este efeito apenas estava presente num subgrupo da amostra composto por polivítimas. Verificou-se também que as polivítimas apresentam níveis superiores de crescimento pós-traumático na condição de elevado suporte social percebido da família. Este estudo veio salientar a importância de cada vez mais os profissionais integrarem abordagens de promoção do crescimento e do funcionamento positivo na sua prática. | pt |
| dc.description.abstract | The concept of post-traumatic growth presupposes the occurrence of positive transformations derived from negative and significant events for the individual. As it is a relatively recent construct, the literature on factors that may or may not influence this process is still somewhat reduced, particularly in the context of victimization. The main objective of the present study was to analyze the moderating role of perceived social support in the relationship between youth victimization and post-traumatic growth. The sample consisted of 220 participants, aged between 18 and 76 years (M = 38.95, SD = 15.89), and mostly female (63.3%). Data was collected online, through the application of a sociodemographic questionnaire, and adapted versions of the Juvenile Victimization Questionnaire, the Posttraumatic Growth Inventory, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support. The results obtained revealed a moderating effect of the perceived support from family in the relationships between: post-traumatic growth and total victimization, caregivers maltreatment, and peer/community victimization. It was found, however, that this effect was only present in a subgroup of the sample composed of polyvictims. It was also found that polyvictims have higher levels of post-traumatic growth in the condition of high perceived social support from family. This study highlighted the importance of professionals increasingly integrating the promotion of growth and positive functioning in their practice. | en |
