The technological development of current societies has contributed to profound changes in adolescents' social behaviors and acquisition of developmental tasks. The use of digital technologies has brought opportunities for growth and development, but also carries risks to adolescents' safety, well-being, and mental health. As this developmental period is marked by the exploration of sexual identities and behaviors, digital technologies appear to put adolescents at greater risk for sexual cybervictimization. However, little is known about the risk factors for sexual cybervictimization, especially in this age group. Thus, this systematic review aimed to systematically review the empirical research produced to date about risk factors for sexual cybervictimization in adolescents (aged 12 to 18 years). Articles from three databases (Web of Science, PsycInfo, and PubMed), published between the year 2001 and 2021, were screened to select studies that quantitatively analyzed risk factors for adolescent sexual cybervictimization. Of the 5585 articles initially screened, twenty met the inclusion criteria. The present systematic review had two objectives: The first, to identify studies in the empirical literature about the prevalence of sexual cybervictimization in adolescents. The second aimed to identify the risk factors for sexual cybervictimization in adolescents. The results showed that sexual cyber-victimization has similar characteristics with the forms of victimization in offline context, however there are differences in the timing and proportion of these events, because what occurs on the Internet is difficult to remove, which can re-victimize the victim. Keywords: Sexual cyber-victimization, adolescence, risk factors
