No

Child maltreatment has a high prevalence worldwide, in most cases perpetrated by parents or primary caregivers. Researchers have begun to study maltreatment in order to assess, measure, and intervene. In the present systematic review, translated and adapted versions of the ISPCAN Chil Abuse Secreening Tools were systematically identified, including the ICAST-P, ICAST-C, ICAST-CH, ICAST-R, with the objectives of describing the methodologies and ethical procedures in data collection and assessing the psychometric properties of the versions according to six criteria of the COSMIN system. Nine empirical validation studies of the ICAST scales were included in the systematic review, in terms of psychometric properties and ethical and methodological procedures. The results obtained from the analyzed ICAST versions showed disparities regarding the psychometric properties assessed, presenting contradictory values between each other. However, it was possible to identify the implementation of similar ethical procedures among the different validation studies. The results of this review may contribute to the adaptation and validation of ICAST scales for the portuguese population.
